Position Overview

Primary Responsibilities

  • Managing staff at all CM Branches, including assisting in the hiring, training, supervising processes. This includes evaluating branch staff members, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet operational needs.
  • Assist in managing inventory levels of hard goods/gases for both in store sales and external distribution functions.
  • Involved in establishing and updating processes and procedures to ensure staff perform their job duties.
  • Identifying and mitigating operational risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Oversees the process of setting inventory level targets to meet customer and sales expectations.
  • Drives sales initiatives to achieve branch targets and goals. Developing strategies to expand our customer base and increase market share.
  • Plans for future needs and monitors production/manpower levels to ensure continued efficiency.
  • Reviews plant/branch/area/product reports and provides executive management with analysis and recommendations for business improvements based on such analysis.
  • Performs customer site visits and handles issues that are high impact and/or are elevated for resolution.
  • Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication, problem resolutions, and service delivery.
  • Handles deliver driver concerns with customer locations on unsafe practices.
  • Ensures alignment of area’s priorities with broader organizational initiatives. Sets culture and tone for area of responsibility.
  • Involved in setting organization’s timelines and business objectives.
  • Interacts frequently with internal and external management concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling, etc.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of branch-specific strategies and initiatives aligned with company objectives.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Perform additional projects and duties as requested by management.

Qualifications

  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in business management, preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in the industrial gas industry or related managerial experience, preferred.
  • Accurate knowledge in all regulatory agencies including, but not limited to, FDA, DOT, LCU, OSHA, and EP.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of cylinder gases and processes of each.

  • Since 2011, we’ve grown from a 55-person, 2-location welding supply company to a nearly 140-person, 8-location, diversified business we are today.
  • In 2015, expanded to include custom automation and robotics, making us one of the only local distributors who is also an integrator.
  • In 2019, acquired Jason’s Beverage Carbonation Company, another successful family-owned CO2 distributor in St. Paul, MN, expanding our distribution area to include customers in Minnesota and parts of North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Iowa.
  • In 2021, acquired Fessler Carbonic Gas Company in Des Moines, IA, expanding our CO2 footprint to all of Iowa; and Metro Welding Supply in Minneapolis, MN to better serve customers the Minneapolis metro area and most recently Preferred Welder Sales out of Mankato expanding our Southern MN footprint.
