Automation Sales Manager – St. Cloud

Position Overview

Under the direction of, and reporting to the President of Automation, the Sales Manager – Automation is responsible for leading the automation sales team along with sales activities from lead generation through close.  This includes but is not limited to, supporting teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with company vision and values.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead the Automation Sales Team

  • Develop a business plan, in conjunction with Company management that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
  • Responsible for sales forecasting monthly
  • Prepare strategy for effective search of sales leads and prospects.
  • Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
  • Maximize all opportunities in the process of closing a sale.
  • Provide leadership for your team, customer, and yourself to generate new and repeat Automation sales by making recommendations to prospects and clients of various solutions the company offers to their business issues, and driving to the close of the sale

Account Management

  • Develop quotations for automation equipment projects.
  • Provide timely, accurate, competitive pricing while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
  • Determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Proactively recommend products and services needed by customers to increase satisfaction and improve transaction profitability.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all prospects and clients whether on the phone, in person or through electronic communications.
  • Collaborate with automation team to determine necessary equipment, ideas, and pricing.
  • Develop a quotation including labor, shipping, installation and training, electrical, material, and finished component purchases.


  • Associates degree in sales, marketing or related field, preferred.
  • 5+ years of sales experience, preferred.
  • Experience in automation industry, preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience, a plus.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales quotas.
  • Complete understanding of pricing and proposal models.
  • Strong negotiating and closing skills.
